Barwon Health is committed to developing a vibrant culture of education, training and research for all staff. The Barwon Health Research Directorate’s key units include
- Research Support Unit
- Research Development Unit (RDU) formerly the REGI Unit
- Biostatistics Support Service
Each unit provides support and advice for researchers, academics and clinical staff interested in research across Barwon Health.
The Research Directorate is responsible for the oversight of all research activities conducted under the auspices of Barwon Health and works to build research capacity and collaboration across the region.
RDU manages research proposals and ensures that all research activities undertaken by Barwon Health comply with national and international guidelines and legislation and exemplify the highest standards of ethics and research practice. REGI also provides advice and support for Barwon Health staff and associates undertaking research or seeking to learn more about research processes.
Adrian Costa Clinical Trials Centre
As the overarching system and infrastructure for conducting and reporting clinical trials at Barwon Health, the Adrian Costa Clinical Trials Centre (ACCTC) will improve training opportunities, research capacity and consumer access to novel treatments in the Greater Geelong community.
