Intensive Care – Simone Fitzgerald

Background

I am a study coordinator in the ICU research department, overseeing a range of trials looking at different aspects of ICU care. I also study my PhD part time through Deakin University (supported by the Barwon Health- Deakin CSP scholarship). My PhD project explores how AI scribes can be used to enhance ICU care.

Before taking on my current position, I worked in oncology clinical trials and as an ICU nurse at the Austin. I’ve also had experience working in paediatric ICU in Brisbane and in rural South Australia.
